Love – The Root of Life

Everything in this Universe has a root, the root of its existence. The ever-expanding Universe had a Big Bang, every fire has a spark, every river has a drop, every symphony has a melody, every tree has a root, and so do we. But what happens if we become disoriented from our roots, no longer stay in touch with our roots, or we forget where the roots are? Will the tree still get the source of its life? Will the river still be able to flow if the drop disappears, will the symphony still sound heart touching if it skips the note? Will we still be able to have our identity intact?

The problems exist for all of us, be it the forest, the river, the glacier or the human, and will forever remain. We all get hurt at some point in time, by some situation, person, or the destiny.

Sometimes, the rush to be healed is so intense, that we fail to hear what that issue has been whispering to us!

The root of all of our existence is LOVE. We are born into this universe and get a life through love. While we are alive, we get the love, we offer the love, and share bonds with the people we love. We are born out of love, and all we leave behind is love, in the form of memories embedded in the heart of people we share our life with. Yes, we might leave behind a fortune, but love is something no one can buy, and we don’t need any fortune or money to offer it. So, love is something we all have and we all leave behind regardless of what numbers we earn. Even the animals have the love to offer, and this is why we feel their absence when they are no longer around us.

“What do you think success is?”, asked the Boy.
The Mole said, “To Love!”

Haven’t we all experienced, when we are with someone we love or who loves us, every moment seems beautiful, the time seems to run fast, even a glass of water tastes better than the wine in the company of people we love. Last night, while having dinner with my school friends, we all laughed so much, that we might not have laughed in the last 6 months. Do we have problems? We do, but that’s the power of love. Why do we feel better on returning to home after a hectic day at work, and even a simple basic food becomes a comfort food with the family? Why does watching your parents giggle feel like heaven? Isn’t it love that makes every basic moment in our life an extraordinary moment? It does, and that’s why when we feel loved, we feel connected, connected to the roots. But what happens, when we miss the touch of our roots and feel the disconnect? The first thing we feel is a lack of love.

Sometimes, to reconnect with the roots becomes so hard. The root of our existence is love, and the only thing that makes our existence possible and keeps the life alive in our body, is the soul. It is said that the soul never dies, but I believe the soul reaches to the next stage of its journey, only through love. So, there must be a connection of our soul and love, right? And when reconnecting with our roots is so tough, the life starts to present the sets of challenges. These challenges are sometimes the test of our belief. Do we believe in ourselves, or love?

How do you define belief? Is it something bound with the body (the mind), or the heart (the soul)? Or is it a signal from our soul to our mind? Stronger the signal, stronger the belief? Is that the so-called, sixth sense? We don’t know, as of now, but if you know something about it, please do share. However, what happens when we strongly believe in something? When we strongly believe that we will get the things done, or we will reach home no matter what happens, don’t we feel a different driving force within ourselves?

When you are in harmony with the reality you wish to attain, you need nothing else to possess that reality.

Once we start believing strongly, we start getting the energy and the route to reconnect with the roots. This is what I experienced while going to the place where I was born, and the place which holds the biggest pilgrimage, the Kumbh Festival. With the whole city turning into a no-vehicle zone, and still managing to reach home after the hassles and heated conversations with the officials, it was nothing else than the belief that made it happen. And the result, getting the love in the form of a warm hug from the niece who waited the whole day.

There are three ears on every single person. One is on the left side of your head, the other is on the right, plus one in your spirit. Pay attention to what your spirit hears, that’s how you hear to God.

Even though getting the love from the people we love is the biggest success we could get, we should never take the self-love for granted. Sometimes, we feel so deprived of the love, and feel lonely in life, that we keep waiting, waiting for a person, moment, situation or something, that never happens. What it leads to, is we keep getting away from the love that is already present around us. We fail to acknowledge and respect this love.

Some people ruin the sweetest souls, they push and push testing boundaries, taking kindness for weakness and then, when the sweetness turns bitter, when the hurt finally speaks up, they call it crazy, toxic, they point fingers, forgetting they lit the fire themselves. But, here’s the truth, every reaction has a root, every flame is spark. You can’t blame someone for defending what’s left of themselves, for refusing to be disrespected anymore. Sometimes, breaking is how they survive.

Never compromise your self worth, self-respect in the name of love. We are born out of love, but we all were born alone, and we will leave this life alone as well. The love is the purest thing, but our relationship with ourselves, our self-talk is the most crucial thing. Sometimes the biggest hurt, not comes from the disappointment of not getting the love from the people we love, but from allowing the people we love to hurt us, again and again.

Whatever actions we perform, whatever work we do, or the things we do in our day-to-day life, the tiniest decisions we make in our life, either keep us connected to roots or take us away from the roots. Be mindful, to keep making time and putting effort to stay intact with the roots and the soul. Don’t let anyone deny the love and happiness you deserve in life, simply by taking care of yourself and loving yourself.

Find ways to know yourself, meet your other versions, discover what defines you, what brings you good thoughts and energy, and what makes you feel low and drains your energy. Knowing yourself better through life experiences will reflect where you get energy from and where your roots are, and once you start finding it, keep moving in the direction, keep working and putting efforts, and you will forever be in touch with the roots, and be happy and loving with yourself in life. Take one step at a time, and hug a tree.. you will know how much they love you.
