Hey reader,
Has it ever happened with you that the most creative idea or the most fantastic thought, you got at the most inappropriate time/situation? Really silly no? But still happens a lot of times (at least with me). I remember when I got a solution to a bottleneck situation at my work during a shower! Lol.
However, coming back to today’s topic, Questions! Very common thing, right? But have you ever wondered how our life would have been if there were no questions? Ironically, this is also a question, and so far I have asked 5 questions already in this blog. Yeah, you may have counted now and found it’s 4 instead of 5. That’s how important questions are in our life. Something that has always been there, and we never really noticed. But we are not born with it, otherwise, right after the birth, we may have been asking the doctor, What’s in the lunch? Lol.
Though over the period of time, we develop our outstanding questioning mind, which just makes us one of the smartest living creatures on the planet. Not only to the other creatures but our questioning logic and sense just stand us out of the crowd of humans too.
Nowadays, there is a feature on a social media platform, Instagram (not sure if the other platforms have it too or not), where the user can put a story saying, Ask Me Anything! It may be fun for some, and maybe icebreaking for others, and can also be an attempt to open up conversations. But, the real fun is actually the questions themselves. While I was going through a bunch of them, just noticed the wide range of ideas and views that the questions carried. This is where I got the idea of writing this blog about questions.
But before writing this, I had a small activity where I asked a few of my friends and family members for a bunch of questions that they would ask someone if there’s an AMA (Ask Me Anything). Though as expected, not everyone will answer (especially my male friends, who never really cooperate that well in these things), I managed to get some questions from the happy souls. Idea was to capture (as much as possible) a broader and rich collection of views in the questions, though the findings were really interesting.
Before I say more, lets have a look at the questions first,
- What all are your hobbies?
- I am hardcore foodie.. like chatore are you?
- Your food choices, especially ask if he/she is a coffee person or tea person?
- What are your dreams, your aspiration?
- That person/thing that you admire a lot?
- What’s your future plan?
- Relationship status?
- Any past relationship?
- What is the craziest thing you did in your life till date?
- What you see in your partner?
- Your opinion on marriage?
- What was the that one thing that changed your life ?
- Three things they are passionate about?
- Views on relationships/partnership?
- Are they spiritual or not ?
- About family and history?
- Any skills that they have?
- Fav academic subject?
- Views on fitness?
- Are you happy?
- How are you doing?
- Whats the biggest battle/challenge you have overcome in your life?
- What one incident in your life you feel so happy about that it occurred?
PS: The ones in bold are that really fascinated me.
I was expecting wider views or topics in questions, however, there are few questions that most people asked, like relationship, happiness, hobbies/passion, etc., and not that how much is your net worth, what’s your designation. Certainly, one can see that anyone who is concerned about you is more interested to know your life balance than the bank balance.
Now imagine, if you ask a kid to ask anything, what they will be asking. Just assuming, do correct me or add more in the comments if you feel like it.
- Why is the sky so high?
- Why can’t I touch the sky?
- Why is sky blue?
- Why we have 10 fingers but only two eyes, and only 1 mouth?
- Why can’t I have more and more chocolates?
- Will you play this game with me?
and may be many more like this.
One thing that I see in these questions is the curiosity, and knowing more about the experiences from day to day life, which slowly keeps fading while growing up. At this time, I am not saying whether it is good or bad, but the difference in the questions, you can see it right? (Again a question)
“It is not the answer that enlightens, but the question.”
Eugene Lonesco
According to you, what other dimension does the questions add to our life? Do share your views on the “Questions” in the comments. Meanwhile, next time you see someone saying, Ask me Anything, you’ve got a cheat sheet 😉
I will meet you in the next one, till then, stay happy and healthy!
Cheers!
