Hey reader,
Thank you to the readers for showing up love on my previous blog, and really appreciate the offline discussions post publish. How fascinating it was, knowing the facts of Silence vs Peace. In crux, to those who weren’t a part of it, Silence… we found is the absence of anything, while Peace is the calmness in the presence of anything. Feel free to contradict, add or correct me here, online or offline.
These conversations are priceless, picking up any topic out of life and discussing our views, making out some time out of the daily busy life. I can understand its tough to find that time always, though it’s not impossible.
And hence, I have found some time again with another topic, Intuition, which we all call inner voice, instinct, or sixth sense.
There’s one very interesting thing that I find when I start reading out the “abouts” of my WhatsApp Contacts. In every 5 contacts, I find at minimum 3 motivational quotes, yes in every 5 contacts. What does it mean? And how is it related to intuition? We’ll find out soon.
“Intuition is a very powerful thing, more powerful than intellect, in my opinion.”
Steve Jobs
How surprising it is, that we all have this intuition, the inner voice, that we call our gut feelings, which we all know never lies, but we are never able to hear it at times. You can remember the times, when you might have heard your gut, and it had saved you. We all do have, though it’s a tough thing to listen to it every time… really? NO
“When we allow distractions to wobble us away from ourselves, that’s when our intuition starts to fade and our focus dulls.”
Tara Stiles
Recently, while watching the Impact Theory over YouTube, I came through this amazing interview of Tom Bilyeu and Marie Forleo. Here, Marie talks about this very interesting technique that can help anyone to listen to the inner voice at any point of your life.
All you need to do is notice that nanosecond… You come through an amazing career growth opportunity, or you going through an off-and-on relationship, or as small as you buying an amazingly beautiful dress, but confused about your binary response, i.e. YES or NO. Just close your eyes, think about that idea, that opportunity, relationship, or dress. Ask yourself whether you wanna take chance and go for that career opportunity, whether you want to keep or leave that relationship, whether you want to buy or not that dress and watch your body response in that very next nanosecond.
“Heroism often results as a response to extreme events.”
James Geary
Yes, your body is gonna respond. Either your body is going to expand itself or contract. Expansive means your body will feel lighter, face up and you feel some sort of essence like joy or happiness or excitement like Ah! getting a surprise. While, on contractions, your stomach will feel like heavy, your body will feel the weight, or you feel some sort of anxiety or depressed expression with chin moving sideways saying a no.
Just close your eyes, ask that question, and watch your body’s response. Let’s do it one time, and ask yourself a few questions, Do you love your parents? Are you Happy? Do you love yourself? and so on.. and watch your body responses.. It’s really really interesting, you will be amazed and surprised by the responses.
This is cool, but do you want even cooler ways? Here is what I found on Marie’s blog… These are three ways to look into yourself and listen to your inner voice:
1. Move. Movement is a powerful vehicle to help you tune into the wisdom of your body. Any type of brisk exercise (dancing, running, walking, swimming, etc.) clears the chatter of your mind so you can more clearly “listen” to your inner voice or “gut hits.”
2. Write in a journal, and don’t edit. Put pen to paper and do a brain dump. Resist the urge to edit or judge. Get all of your ideas, dreams, and possibilities on the page. Do this often, and I promise you’ll feel more connected to your true self.
3. Choose curiosity over fear. Fear is a valuable asset — it keeps you from walking into traffic — but it’s not the voice of your heart. Curiosity, on the other hand, calls forth a sense of playfulness, openness, and wonder. From that emotional space, you’re much more likely to hear your inner voice.
“Intuition is the key to everything, in painting, filmmaking, business – everything. I think you could have an intellectual ability, but if you can sharpen your intuition, which they say is emotion and intellect joining together, then a knowingness occurs.”
David Lynch
Now, coming back to the WhatsApp “abouts”. We all liked those amazing beautiful quotes by the greatest minds on the planet. We didn’t took time to like them or had to study them, but we liked them the moment we heard them. That nanosecond after reading out those quote, we found them true. Did we googled it if it’s true? No. Did we researched on it? No. Then How? Remember it’s a nanosecond, and only Intuitions can respond in a nanosecond and they are always true. That’s why we liked them so much that we put them as the “abouts”. Though, the only missing piece is to believe in them.
Remember, your facts can lie, your people can lie, your emotions can lie, but your intuition will always say the truth, and truth can be bitter. Lies are comfortable till it brings up the biggest troubles, but in the end we all have to face the truth, so why not today…
